Why Participate

Camp is a vital part of the healing and recovery of children with cancer. While medical professionals address the complex physical needs of children with cancer, camp addresses their emotional and psychological needs. In addition to the psychological fallout of childhood cancer, over 75 per cent of survivors live with serious physical health problems such as blindness, deafness, growth issues, mobility issues, fertility problems or heart and kidney issues, which add yet another layer of psychological and financial complexity to their lives. Thanks to the support of our participants, donors and sponsors, camp is there to help reduce some of the aftermath of the disease. Camp gives kids a sense of belonging and helps them to make sense of their traumatic experiences
